David F. Simon '74 was appointed by Gov. Tom Corbett to be chairman of the Pennsylvania eHealth Partnership Authority, which strives to improve health care delivery and outcomes by enabling the secure electronic exchange of health information.

Nancy Blaschak '76, regional chief executive officer for the American Red Cross, was honored by the National Federation for Just Communities of Western New York for her work in social services.

Tim Noe '76 was named manufacturing director of Goodyear Dunlop Tires North America's manufacturing plant in Tonawanda, New York.

Jeffery A. Hunter, MBA '78, is a public health advisor for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Thomas A. Meyers, MBA '78, CPA, was promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer at Merchants Insurance Group.

1980s

Robert Zak, BS/MBA '80, president and CEO of Merchants Insurance Group, received the Business Executive of the Year Award from the Richard J. Wehle School of Business at Canisius College.

Jim Toellner '81, president and general manager of WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, was awarded GM of the Year in markets 51-100 by Broadcasting & Cable magazine.

Gerald Reger '83 was named chief financial officer and chief administrative officer at the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo.

Timothy Lafferty '86 joined JBM Computer Consultants Inc. as vice president of sales and marketing.

Ann Baumer Schulte '86 was named senior director, global intelligence market at St. Jude Medical Inc., a global medical device manufacturer.

George E. Barthel '87 is a sales assistant at Capstone Financial, a MassMutual general agency in Atlanta.

Lori Craig '87 was promoted to executive administrator at Adoption STAR, a nonprofit adoption agency.

Mary L. Hoffman, MBA '87, was appointed senior vice president of operations at Erie County Medical Center Corp.

Murray S. "Skip" Marsh Jr. '85, MBA '87, is vice president and chief financial officer at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro, North Carolina.

Keith Stolzenburg '81, MBA '87, CEL '99, CPA, was appointed managing partner for the Buffalo office of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

David Tier '99 is a major in the U.S. Army stationed in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. He published an article on national security titled "The Waning Grand Strategy of Democratization" in the Spring 2014 edition of Connections: The Quarterly Journal.

John Taylor, MD/MBA '09, is an attending psychiatrist, assistant training director for the McLean Adult Psychiatry Residency program and project manager in population health management at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and an instructor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He completed a residency in psychiatry and a fellowship in psychosomatic medicine at MGH.

Alexander Topolski '09 was named program manager for Google Shopping.

Zachary Wagner '09, CPA, was promoted to audit manager at Chiampou Travis Besaw & Kershner LLP.

Nick Jones, MS '10, joined the Williamsville office of Paramax Corp. as an associate.

Stephanie Stoll '03, PMBA '10, was appointed director of strategic partnerships at PLS 3rd Learning, a Buffalo-based education technology company.

Steve Szubinski, EMBA '10, was named president of PCA Technology Group, where he has been a founding partner since 1989.

Ashley Westfield '10 was named audit senior at Freed Maxick CPAs.

Lauren Dixon '11 was appointed community manager at Crowley Webb, an advertising agency in Buffalo.

Eric Marks, PMBA '11, was promoted to administrative vice president and manager of consumer deposits pricing and analytics at M&T Bank.

Amanda Dean Singleton, PMBA '11, was promoted to technical inside sales manager at Ivoclar Vivadent.

Alumni Spotlight: Jody L. Lomeo '91

With his recent appointment to president and CEO of Great Lakes Health System and Kaleida Health, Jody L. Lomeo '91 took charge of the largest health care provider and private employer in Western New York.

Kaleida Health is a $1.2 billion entity made up of four hospitals, two long-term care facilities, Gates Vascular Institute, the Visiting Nurses Association of Western New York and dozens of outpatient, specialty care and laboratory centers.

Great Lakes Health encompasses Kaleida and the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC), which includes a hospital, nursing home and more than 30 outpatient centers.

A Buffalo native, Lomeo now leads more than 13,000 employees to coordinate care across all of these sites.
