1950s

Atanas T. Kobryn '59 was re-elected chair of the City of North Port Citizens Tax Oversight committee and vice chair of the governing board for the Community Health Center of North Point Inc.

1960s

Joseph Wolfe '62 has revised "The Global Business Game," an interactive teaching tool he developed about strategic management and international business.

Alan J. Laurita '68 was named partner in the real estate and finance practice at Hodgson Russ.

Gerald E. Feldman '69 was appointed to the advisory council on privatization and innovation by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett.

Gerard T. Mazurkiewicz '69, partner with Dopkins & Co., was named treasurer of the board of directors for Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation.

1970s

Jerry M. Solomon '70 was appointed counsel to Hiscock & Barclay LLP.

Richard Donnelly, MBA '72, is chair of the board of Oshkosh Corp., a global specialty trucking firm, and also is a trustee for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.

Dorothea (Rogers) Potter '72 has written, illustrated and published two children's books that are available on amazon.com.

Daniel Maloney '74 is an investment banker and managing director of Aria Capital Advisors in Florida. He is a CPA, CFP and CM&AA.

Robert Heilman, MBA '75, recently established a new business, Asia Sourcing, in Buffalo, where he serves as a consultant.

Arthur Palsbo '76 retired from Obslap Research LLC in 2011, a company he co-founded that specializes in rehabilitation research and development of robotics for the rehabilitation field.

Anthony V. Ambrose '77 was promoted to vice president and senior broker at Russell Bond and Co.

Larry Zielinski, MBA '77, has joined the firm of Murak & Associates as a senior consultant, specializing in health care, business growth strategies and nonprofit organizations. He also is an adjunct professor in the School of Management, teaching "The Business of Health Care."

Carolyn D. Valenti '78 was featured as part of the National Association of Women Business Owners' "Women in Leadership" series. She is a co-founding partner of Lougen Valenti Bookbinder & Weintraub LLP.

1980s

Daniel C. Oliverio, MBA '80, was named chair of Hodgson Russ LLP.

Franca Trincia '81 was named president of the Buffalo chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is controller for Gar Associates.

Gary R. Whitcher '81 was promoted to COO at Latham International.

Fred A. Bristol III, MBA '83, was appointed marketing director at BWI Health Promotions.

Margaret Hempling McGlynn, MBA '83, was appointed president and chief executive officer of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative.

Judith A. Rucki '83 has published her first book "Fragments of a Life-A Collection of Poems."

Tim Lafferty '86 was elected president of the University at Buffalo Alumni Association. He is national sales manager for The PCA Group.

Douglas C. Bean, MBA '87, chief operating officer of Eric Mower and Associates, was appointed to the Buffalo Niagara Partnership's board of directors.

Mary L. Hoffman, MBA '87, was promoted to chief operating officer for Lawley Benefits Group.

Marcia L. Koch '89 was appointed vice president/general manager at Perfect Form Manufacturing in Mt. Morris, N.Y.

Michael G. Levine '89 has been appointed CFO of New York-based Payoneer Inc., a global payments company.

Douglas P. Sosnowski '89 was named partner at Lumsden & McCormick LLP and Brisbane Consulting Group LLC.

1990s

Troy R. Martin, MBA '90, was named director of financial aid at St. Bonaventure University.

Daniel Laufer '91 has accepted a senior-level academic position with tenure at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. He is an expert in crisis management and teaches executive seminars on the topic at leading business schools around the world.

Margaret F. Strauss '93 was appointed senior accountant at Dopkins & Co.

Thomas M. Burns '94 was named vice president of the Buffalo chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is principal at Lumsden & McCormick LLP.

Michael D. Olfano '92, MBA '94, was named CFO/operations manager at The PCA Group.

Michael Horgan '95 was promoted to partner at Olympus Partners, a $3.2 billion private equity firm based in Stamford, Conn.

Patricia E. King, MBA '95, was promoted to associate marketing manager at The Mentholatum Co.

John J. Koeppel '95 was recognized as a top lawyer by Chambers and Partners. He is a partner with Nixon Peabody and leads the firm's private equity and investment funds practice.

Jill Shapero-Mundy '77, MBA '95, was named 2011 Realtor of the Year by the Green Valley/Sahuarita Association of Realtors.

Gerald E. Murak, CEL '91, EMBA '96, is president and co-founder of Precision Scientific Instruments Inc.

Mark Donnelly, MBA '97, is an IBM-certified IT architect in IBM's federal consulting division.

Cristina A. Bahr '98 joined Harris Beach PLLC as an associate in the labor and employment practice law group.

Harmony Casey '98 is director, project management, for Eagle Productivity Solutions.

William E. Finn, EMBA '98, was appointed chair of the board of directors of the National Hospice Work Group. He is CEO of Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.

Mary Ellen Frandina '00 was named executive vice president of organizational development and employee experience at Evans Bancorp.

Steven R. Smyth '00 was promoted to senior assurance manager at Lougen Valenti Bookbinder & Weintraub.

Matthew S. Witzky, MBA '00, was appointed CEO at Cone Holding LLC in Cleveland.

Gwen Appelbaum, MBA '01, was appointed to the board of Leadership Buffalo. She is assistant dean and director of the School of Management's Frank L. Ciminelli Family Career Resource Center.

Jeffrey Arber '97, MBA '01, is a founding partner and vice president at APR Financial Partners.

Michael G. Marsch, EMBA '01, was appointed general manager at the Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside.

Michelle Harrington '07 was named tax senior in the tax management consulting practice at Deloitte in Atlanta.

Michael Graber '06, MBA '08, won the 56 kilogram weight class at the U.S. National Championships in the sport of Olympic weightlifting.
