Several influential media featured the accomplishments of the School of Management and the expertise of its faculty over the past year. Below is a summary of some of the school’s citations in prominent national and regional media. These media “hits” enhance the school’s national reputation and help to brand it as one of the nation’s top business schools.

BusinessWeek

BusinessWeek has ranked the School of Management's Professional MBA program as one of the country's top part-time MBA programs. The School of Management was ranked No. 69 nationally and No. 8 in the Northeast. The biennial ranking of part-time programs began in 2007 and is based on three measures: student satisfaction, academic quality and post-MBA outcomes (see Start-Ups ).

BusinessWeek

In an article on how the economic downturn has affected graduate school enrollments, BusinessWeek noted that the School of Management's MBA program is a smaller, regional program that has weathered the economic storm well and increased enrollment.

Ronald Huefner, SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Department of Accounting and Law, was quoted in an article on BusinessWeek's Web site on the Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force formed through an executive order by President Obama. Huefner said that while creating the task force is "a signal that the people at the top are committed" to fighting fraud, the inter-agency cooperation it will engender will be a plus. "Historically, one of their big problems is to be able to talk to each other and coordinate," he said.

Forbes

Forbes magazine once again ranked the School of Management as one of the best business schools in the world based on the "return on investment" it provides MBA graduates. The ranking of No. 48 was up two spots from the last ranking in 2007 (see Start-Ups ).

U.S. News & World Report

The School of Management was ranked as one of the country's best undergraduate business programs in the 2010 edition of "America's Best Colleges" by U.S. News & World Report . The School of Management was tied for No. 57 out of 183 schools in the ranking, up from No. 78 last year and higher than any other business school in the State University of New York system (see Start-Ups ).

SmartMoney

Arun Jain, Samuel P. Capen Professor of Marketing Research, was quoted in SmartMoney about the subject of "grocery aisle overload." Many stores are cutting down the choices in their inventories, but Jain predicts this will change when consumers feel they can afford more options. "When the economy improves, every family member gets their own shampoo," he said.
