A Message from the School of Management Alumni Association President

Change a Community.

DO YOU BELIEVE? Do you believe in the power of a university to reinvent itself and to change a community? For those of you living or working in Western New York, you are probably already seeing the remarkable transformation taking place at the University at Buffalo under the auspices of President John Simpson's bold and innovative UB 2020 plan. The plan, which can be accessed in full at, calls for significant growth in the student body and faculty at the university with the goal of expanding and enhancing UB's reputation as a top research university by 2020.

If successful, the plan will not only expand and enhance UB's reputation, it also will enhance the vitality and strength of the communities and stakeholders it touches, including its alumni. The benefits to alumni will be numerous and both tangible and intangible. Your degree from the University at Buffalo will become more valuable as the reputation of UB grows. You will have access to additional resources and enhanced opportunities, such as a more extensive alumni network, stronger career services, better graduate programs and professional schools, and better undergraduate programs for your children and other family members. There will also be an expanded physical campus at which to experience all of the assets a university can offer, from arts and cultural programs, to excellent libraries and resourcematerials. The School of Management, which is one of the largest schools within the university, will do its part to grow both its student body and faculty. Many of these exciting changes are already under way.

So what can you do to help make UB's plan a reality? You can start with one easy step-sign up to be a UB Believer. This simple gesture, which will cost you nothing, will let our political and civic leaders know that you support UB and believe in the power of the university to grow and enhance its reputation. You can also get involved in theSchool of Management Alumni Association, which will be an important ally with the School of Management and the university to help see this plan achieve its full potential.
